This piece was originally meant to be performed outside at sunset. For this the costumes were used to exaggerate the naturally occurring colours while emphasising the dancers movements through the revealing of the coloured pleats.

Dominic Brown-Downes
Set and Costume Designer / Maker
Dominic is a set and costume designer and maker completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Design and Production) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). He is interested in the creation of worlds that challenge the perceptions of audiences and prompt performers to rethink their ideas of a production.
During his time at the VCA, Dominic has held varying roles across productions including Set and Props Designer on The Cripple of Inishmaan (2020), Costume and Set Designer/Maker on Sight Unseen (2020), Associate Costume Designer on DFLTLX (2019) and Workshop Leading Hand on Snore (2019) and Swim Between the Flags (2019).
Dominic has previously completed a Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services (Costume for Performance) from Melbourne Polytechnic and has had the opportunity to work with companies including The Australian Ballet, National Institute of Circus Arts and MOOMBA.
