Maker

Mads is a maker finalising a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Design and Production) in Set and Props at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).
Originally from Townsville, Mads trained as a Workshop Assistant with TheatreiNQ where she learnt fabrication techniques in response to environmentally sustainable designs, influencing her particular interest in Ecoscenography.
At the VCA, Mads has remained rooted in her technical practice. Her credits as Workshop Manager include: Our House (2020), the devised theatre works Baccarat and The World That Was (2020), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (2020), Swim Between the Flags (2019), Mad Forest (2019), On the Town (2019), Mirror Mirror (2019) and Snore (2019).
Sculpture and puppetry have become the focal points of Mads' creative practice. Her latest sculptural work, Rainbow Sammy, was created as part of her graduating technical project and funded by the Cassidy Bequest Scholarship (2020).
